Subject: [PVE-User] Problem With Bond & VLANs - Help Please
Date: Fri, 16 Aug 2024 17:36:33 +1000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <c6aa5e29-4a11-43e3-b9d8-76890bfd52b2@gmail.com> (raw)

Hi All,

Disclaimer: I'm coming from an EL background - this is my first venture
into Debian-world  :-)

So I'm having an issue getting the NICs, Bond, and VLANs correctly
configured on a new Proxmox Node (Old oVirt Node). This worked on the
old oVirt config (abit a different set of config files/statements).

What I'm trying to achieve:

  * Proxmox Node IP Address: 10.0.200.100/24, Tag:VLAN 200
  * Gateway: 10.0.200.1
  * Bond: NIC1 (eno0) & NIC2 (eno1), 802.3ad
  * VLAN bond0.100: 10.0.100.0/24, Gateway 10.0.100.1
  * VLAN bond0.200: 10.0.200.0/24, Gateway 10.0.200.1
  * NIC3 (eno2): 10.0.300.100/24 - not really relevant, as its not part
    of the Bond, but I've included it to be thorough

My /etc/network/interfaces file:

~~~
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eno0 inet manual
iface en01 inet manual
auto eno3
iface nic3 inet static
   address 10.0.300.100/24
auto bond0
iface bond0 inet manual
   bond-members nic1 nic2
   bond-mode 802.3ad
   bond-xmit-hash-policy layer2+3
   bond-miimon 100
   bond-downdelay 200
   bond-updelay 200
auto bond0.100
iface bond0.100 inet static
   address 10.0.100.0/24
   gateway 10.0.10.1
   vlan-raw-device bond0
auto bond0.200
iface bond0.200 inet static
   address 10.0.200.0/24
   gateway 10.0.200.1
   vlan-raw-device bond0
auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
   address 10.0.200.100/24
   gateway 10.0.200.1
   bridge_porrts bond0
   bridge-fd 0
   bridge_stp off
   bridge-vlan-aware yes
   bridge-vids 100 200
   bridge-allow-untagged no
~~~

If someone could be kind enough to let me know where I'm going wrong,
I'd really appreciate it - thanks (in advance)

Dulux-Oz
