Is it possible to display the compressed size of the VM in the
BackupServer and the email status report from vzdump?
I know it is compressed from examining the .chunks usage, but it would
be useful to see it in the UI and reports.
Thanks.

We do incremental backup using dirty bitmaps. Gathering
those informations for all reused chunks would slow down
the whole backup process, so I am quite unsure if we
want to do that ...

Maybe I'm missing your point, but I wasn't meaning the incremental
display of read/write during backup (though I had noticed that changed),
but just the end result of how much data is stored.
There is no easy way to tell how much space a backup is taking on the
backup server?

This would mean to touch all chunks at the server to get the compressed
size. That is possible, but slow down the whole process.
I guess that would remove the "wow, that was fast" effect...
Maybe we can gather such stats during garbage collection...
