The Ceph Manager can integrate with quite a few external monitoring tools itself [0]. Graphite does not seem to be there, but InfluxDB, Prometheus, Zabbix, ... are all there.
That would be the direct way, and hopefully something is already there that is helpful to you.

Since the MGR does not seem to support Graphite out of the box, that's where your posted link to ceph-collectd-graphite might be handy, though I have no experience with it.
