Subject: [PVE-User] PVE LXC to ESXi VM
Date: Tue, 27 Sep 2022 14:38:22 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <d3f1e037-e932-4369-b6bc-420ae6158421@matrixscience.com> (raw)
Hi all,
I'm trying to convert a Debian 10.10 LXC container running under PVE
6.2-6 into ESXi 7.0.2 VM.
I'm using VMware vCenter Converted Standalone 6.2.0 from May 2018
(latest available).
Upon establishing SSH connection to the container I get:
"Unable to detect disks or volumes on the source machine.
Make sure that the source is a supported Linux distribution."
No such errors when I try the same thing against a bare metal Debian
10.13 box.
Has anybody had any success with this tool?
Is there a better way and any hopes for not having to rebuild containers
manually from scratch as VMs?
Regards,
Adam
