If a prune job is defined on PBS for the root, does that apply to the
namespaces under the root as well?

depends on whether the job is configured to be recursive or not:
--max-depth <integer> (0 - 7)
How many levels of namespaces should be operated on (0 == no recursion, empty == automatic full recursion, namespace depths reduce maximum allowed value)

Ah, Thanks, overlooked that setting. It defaulted to empty (Full), which
was what I wanted.
