[PVE-User] Proxmox backup server and SMR disks

Hello.

There is a very big incompatibility with ZFS and SRM drives (like WD Red nas EFAX); so, i would like to know if someone have used PBS with MD raid (i think that replication will be lost), or if someone have found some workaround to make SMR drives work with pbs and zfs.

I know, for next drives, but I already have about 120 4Tbyte drives on 10 servers that i have used before PBS and are still usable, I and would like to use them, even if performances are not good.

Hello Eneko.

Disclaimer: I am replacing all EFAX (smr drives), but some of my customers don't wont to spend other money.

I know that performance is really bad, but the very big problem is that ZFS can't resilver a SMR drive, because it will be considered faultly. I am trying to make a resilver disabling write cache with hdparm, but i think that i will need a month to complete it :)
