Depending on the storage type this is a technical necessity, but if not, should it still be done? From the perspective of the storage provider it'd be difficult to prevent stale snapshots of deleted VMs to persist. Yes, storage snapshots (the ones created via volume_snapshot()) in Proxmox VE belong to the volume they are created with. And removing the volume should also remove those snapshots.
