Subject: [PATCH access-control/docs/manager/qemu-server 0/5] Add new permission VM.Reboot
Date: Wed, 16 Sep 2026 11:06:54 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20260916090715.72307-1-j.theisen@proxmox.com> (raw)

This patch series implements a new permission called VM.Reboot
and integrates it into the UI.

This permission is meant as a stricter alternative to the already
existing VM.PowerMgmt permission.
A use case for this might be a shared VM between multiple users
which should be able to make config changes to the VM but not
stop it.

The request for that came up during a PVE training.

The patches adapt the necessary permission check in qemu-server,
adapt the UI to deliver an intuitive experience for the user and
add the permission to the docs.

By default this permission is not assigned to a specific role.
